Source Policy

Last reviewed: 13 July 2026

A source is selected for the specific statement it can support. One official page may verify a document date but say nothing about a mobile package, payment time or the availability of a catalogue category.

Records kept for a factual claim

The research record should preserve the URL, page title, retrieval date, the exact claim supported and a content hash or snapshot where technically possible. Dynamic observations are rechecked before substantive publication. If a current source cannot be verified, the claim is removed or clearly described as unresolved.

Affiliate and commercial sources

Competitor and affiliate pages can help identify questions readers commonly ask, but they are not used to establish legal status, operator identity, licence numbers, payment performance, support times, catalogue size, user totals or promotions. Their structure may be studied without copying their text, images or factual claims.

Legal-source method

Every material legal timeline event links beside the event to the official source. Enactment, notification and commencement are treated as different events. The 2026 Rules entry links directly to the MeitY Gazette PDF and does not turn a statutory document into approval of a named platform.

Image-source method

Licensed stock photographs are downloaded locally, MIME-checked, converted to WebP, hashed and entered in the image manifest. Credits preserve the original source page, photographer, licence, download date, use and crop status. The theme displays only approved, non-AI manifest records.
